Fire Restoration

After a fire, traces of soot and smoke can be found in the most unlikely places. At 1st Action Services, our specialists are trained to detect the presence of even the smallest trace amounts of smoke residue within your premises. Once identified, our technicians use a variety of methods and techniques to remove this soot / smoke and odor from furniture, ceilings, walls, personal belongings, carpets, draperies, etc.

If your personal belongings, e.g., furniture, clothing, draperies, mattresses, etc., have been exposed to smoke, our technicians use an ozone process to remove smoke odors. We also have a 600 s.f. ozone room in our state-of-art warehouse facility. Our dry cleaning and laundering facility also has an ozone room for clothing and other fabrics. Depending upon the scope of the work, an ozone machine may be brought onto your premises to handle small smoke odor removal jobs.

In situations where smoke has been significant, 1st Action Services checks to see whether or not contaminants made its way into the structure’s heating and air ducts. If so, we will typically recommend air duct cleaning.

Our duct cleaning specialists sweep the duct work with 200 lbs of applied air pressure while the vacuum hose pulls 12,000 cubic feet per minute back out of the duct work. The truck-mounted equipment pulls the dust, mold, and other debris into a specially sealed compartment on the truck.

When fire, water and/or storm damage affects your property’s structure, it is often necessary to remove your personal belongings while repairs are being made. 1st Action Services handles all aspects of moving contents, from taking inventory of those belongings, to packing, moving, and storing them. And, if cleaning and restoration of your belongings are needed, we handle that after we move your belongings to our 26,000 s.f. state-of-the-art warehouse. Your belongings are then cleaned, restored and packed into new boxes (or plastic wrapped) and stored there.

At the time we pack up your contents, we will create a “first delivery” list with you. This lets us know which items you need returned as soon as possible. We will take great care of your belongings!
